This was one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. The 8th grade science team took it up a notch, turning the Marshmallow Challenge into a design lab following the Argument Driven Inquiry framework. All 8th grade science teachers are partnering with the University of Texas on an NSF grant that brings computational chemistry to their classrooms within the Argument Driven Inquiry framework this year, so here was a chance for students to get more comfortable with the process. I'm working on getting Mr. Gaffney to write a blog post about this activity and submit it to NSTA!
