How can you divide and get a larger number than when you started? This question haunted me as a young kid for about a year before I was finally able to figure it out. Today in math intervention class, kids used fraction bars to visualize division by fractions. So when asked "What is 3 divided by 1/4?", they were able to visualize the 12 '1/4ths' it took to fill up three full bricks. Great stuff happening in the minds of these sixth graders!
