9th graders in Mrs. Dille's English class competed in a bracket-style poetry competition. Students voted on which poem they liked better (and the reasons for choosing it).
The following is directly from Mrs. Dille: "Sometimes in English class we get carried away with analysis and forget that real readers also just read for the sole enjoyment of it. So, in an NCAA inspired competition, my students read poems they chose, shared favorites with the class, and then voted poems forward in our competition. Today was our final round. It was Tupac's poetry against an original from my student Will. Will won."
