The chemistry PLC had a great breakthrough today. Ms. King led the group through brainstorming what skills & ideas the teachers wanted the students to have/know by the end of the course and then she split them up into four categories:
- Chemistry content
- Science skills
- 21st century skills
- Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
The teachers were able to see that they did indeed value so much more than just the chemistry they have been tasked with teaching. I was told that the teachers were re-energized from this activity and ready to tackle their classes with a renewed enthusiasm!
