My 9th grade counselor is awesome! She went to every World Geography class to help the freshmen learn about their graduation pathways and what these "credits" are that adults keep referring to. And as a former middle school math teacher, she didn't just talk to the kids, she made them do the work. She had them do a card sort and students got hands on experience building their graduation plan. I definitely think it helped them realize the importance of not getting behind!
