Day 16: SEL training (guest post)

The following is from Ms. Young, one of our awesome 7th grade ELA teachers, who attended an SEL training today because she is one of our Social Emotional Learning leaders on campus:

As a teacher, it is often easy to place labels on students subconsciously:

"Juan has never worked for me and always talks, so he will never work for me."

"5th period is loud, so they can't handle a lab in science class."

What would happen if we changed our mindset about students? How could our classrooms change if we saw students differently? Could they actually see themselves differently in turn?
